History of Our Organization
DC Healthcare., founded on the principles of Commitment, Attitude, Responsibility and Excellence in the District of Columbia in 1982, offering individuals living with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) services to enhance their lives by actively participating in their communities to enable them to experience a better quality of life. We are committed to providing care and compassion while selflessly devoting our attention to meeting the needs of the individuals we serve. Our attitude is determined not by what happens, but how we react to what happens.
DC Healthcare. provides Medicaid Waiver and Community Residential Services, including Supported Living, Intermediate Care Facilities, and Money Follow the Person Voucher program to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the District of Columbia. We maintain excellent delivery of health care services while moving forward to support people with full community inclusion and opportunities for independence, decision-making, and choices to live and enrich life.
DC Healthcare. encourages and actively increases people's awareness of rights and advocacy by participating in Project Action meetings, voter registration, voting, The Mayor's Conference on Disabilities, and Access to community resources (YMCA, Senior Center Programs, Community Centers) and activities.
DC Healthcare. continues to provide opportunities for movement from ICFs to less restrictive community settings and provides excellent health care and services to individuals as they age.

DC Healthcare Management team has combined patient care experience of over 200 years. We take pride in caring for the disabled and mentally challenged and providing an environment for them to succeed. Our senior management team has been serving our individuals for over 40 years. We are blessed to have leaders who are passionate about our individuals.
